AEgis supports the systems engineering requirements of its customers through formal requirements definition, management, system design, implementation, verification and validation, test and evaluation, inventory control, configuration, data management, GFE, GFI tracking and control.

Airborne Laser M&S and Analysis
AEgis provides support to the Airborne Laser (ABL) program for the NMD Ground Based Radar Project Office. AEgis ensures decision makers have the appropriate set of digital federation models and simulations available to support critical decisions concerning the ABL. As the Verification, Validation, and Accreditation (VV&A) Agent for ABL M&S, AEgis performs acceptability assessments on the On-Station Availability Model (OSAM), the Chemical Jettison Simulator (CJSIM), the Laser Range Safety Tool (LRST), the Atmospheric Decision Aid (ADA), and the lethality code known as HITS.
THAAD M&S Program Analysis
AEgis provides M&S Planning and Support to the Terminal High Altitude Area Defense (THAAD) Project Office (TPO). THAAD M&S Manager includes identification, validation, and programmatic M&S investments to ensure adherence to industry best practices, DoD approved M&S standards, Verification, Validation, and Accreditation (VV&A), and elimination of duplicate M&S efforts.

MDA System Engineering and Analysis
AEgis provides programmatic and technical support to MDA BC and participates in the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) C2BMC Communications Connectivity Task Force (CCTF).

AEgis provides communications requirements to the U.S. Army THAAD and PATRIOT programs, the U.S. Navy Aegis Ballistic Missile Defense (BMD) systems and MDA specific systems. AEgis provides DISA trained support personnel to MDA/BC to coordinate DISA services and the related budget requirements to meet the bandwidth and availability of DISA Long Haul DATMS circuits.

AEgis AMRDEC Strategic Defense Activity
AMRDEC Strategic Defense Division Systems Engineering, Systems Analysis, and Technical Support

  • Strategic planning, systems engineering, systems analysis, and technical and management support for AMRDEC activities supporting the Missile Defense Agency’s (MDA) ongoing development, testing, and deployment of the Ballistic Missile Defense System (BMDS)

  • Prime contractor oversight and coordination for the development of the Single Stimulation Framework (SSF), the truth and control infrastructure for the next generation of BMDS ground tests and the Missile Defense System Exerciser (MDSE)

  • Systems engineering support for the design and development for the BMDS enterprise, Concurrent Test, Training, and Operations (CTTO) capability.
–Technical activities include requirements definition, specification development, and concept definition.
  • AEgis works in coordination with all relevant MDA and associated organizations and contractors to support these activities.

EMC-EMI Support
AEgis supports customers by providing technical guidance and analysis involving Electromagnetic Compatibility-Electromagnetic Interference (EMC-EMI) issues.  AEgis has conducted scaled power analysis and frequency coverage issues as part of evaluating unintended emissions and system interference evaluations.  Power and frequency measurements along with predicted behavior are compared against defined regulations and test definitions

NBC/Survivability
The US Army Cruise Missile Defense Office has requested AEgis support for several areas of Systems Engineering. One of the areas of systems support has included protection against Nuclear, Biological, and Chemical Weapons (NBC); commonly known as Weapons of Mass Destruction (WMD).  AEgis has provided continuous support to the Government in protection against such weapons, as well as support for protection of systems against the effects of enemy use of WMD against electronic systems (Electronic Warfare).

AEgis Technologies continues to provide world-class expert analyses of the effects of WMD on US Force Protection systems currently under development, as well as recommendations for improvements to existing systems.  The goal of these efforts is to ensure that future US combat systems will meet all the challenges of the modern battlefield.

International Studies
AEgis supports Missile Defense Agency (MDA) and NATO Consultation, Command, and Control Agency (NC3A) in a variety of analysis efforts associated with Missile Defense. These analysis efforts investigate missile defense requirements, deployment options and engagement analysis. Efforts include requirements analysis for the NATO Air Command and Control Systems (ACCS) for missile defense, model comparison, technical advice on interoperability of missile defense systems and support of NATO Feasibility Studies.
SMDC HWIL Support
AEgis engineers currently support Exercise/Wargame Planning, and Process Improvement for the VV&A of HWIL-based systems such as the Missile Defense System Exerciser (MDSE). Additionally, we have been selected to investigate new and innovative Ideas for Advanced Technology Opportunities in Distributive Computing and Hardware in the Loop (HWIL). This effort includes developing innovative techniques for integrating Digital & HWIL models of the Ballistic Missile Defense System.

Army Missile HWIL Testing
AEgis provides simulation and analysis support to Army and MDA Programs through efforts ranging from trade studies of Hypersonic Interceptors to hands-on operation and analysis of THAAD HWIL. Our analysts are equally adept at employing standard M&S tools (e.g., CAPS, EADSIM) or developing their own tools as necessary to achieve mission requirements. In addition, AEgis led studies on the use of the HLA Federation Execution Process (FEDEP) as a means of creating the capability to perform a system-level evaluation of the BMDS by federating existing Element accredited representations.
